Jennifer Grenier is a native of Wilber, Nebraska where she graduated with honors from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1986. She attended Doane University on music and volleyball scholarship and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis on K-12 vocal and Instrumental music. During those years she was active in band, marching band, Phi Sigma Tau Sorority, Doane Choir and Collegiate Nebraska Music Educators Association. Jennifer Grenier then earned her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Wayne State College.
Jen Grenier served the Nebraska Public Schools as a choral and general music director for 32 years in Stromsburg, Stanton, Fremont Public Schools and Otte Blair Middle School, where she directed numerous honor choirs, clef specific ensembles, broadway music clubs and show choirs, serving as both choreographer and music director. Highlights in her tenure as a choral director included forming Tri-M Music Honor Society chapters, presiding over the Nebraska Music Educators annual state convention, local education associations, Pathfinder program for high needs learners, classroom curriculum design, summer theater and show choir camps. In her later years, she served as head of vocal music, where her ensembles earned accolades at Wayne State Middle Level Competition, Northeast Jazz Festival, Nebraska Choral Directors Association, Midland University Festival of the Arts, Lewis Central Clash of the Titans in Iowa, Singing Youth Of Nebraska, All-State Barbershop and Nebraska Middle Level Honor Choir. Her honor choirs were featured in the Festival of Gospel Music at the Holland Center for Performing Arts and the Midland University Winter Arts Concert. Jennifer Grenier’s general and adaptive music courses are student-driven, long-term projects based to adhere to state and national standards in performing arts, while allowing students an opportunity to explore personal points and topics of interest in the area of music, theater, dance and technology. In her 2 year tenure at Otte Middle, Blair had the highest number of students represented at the Nebraska Choral Directors Association Middle Level Honor Choir, a statistic for which they are quite proud.
Her Pathfinder and Special Needs instruction prompted her to become a member of Fremont’s FIRST Team, where she wrote SpEd Grants to secure assistive materials for students K-8 as well as mirrors for the Middle School School Choir Room, attended ESU training and webinars, helped guide teachers needing assistance with students on the Autism spectrum, and promoted district-wide t-shirt sales raising awareness for Autism. Proceeds from these shirts went directly towards parent support activities sponsored by the FIRST Team and their administration. Jennifer Grenier also taught a Professional Development Course through Fremont’s “Tiger U” entitled Incorporating Music and Movement Into Your Classroom. She has served as a mentor for Student Teachers and practicum students for Midland University, Wayne State University, Hastings College and Grace University.
Jennifer Grenier’s other achievements include earning Board of Education Recognition as an outstanding director and educator, serving as a clinician for the Nebraska Choral Directors Association, earning Conference Choral Director of the Year, the Young Americans Golden Music Program Award, Fremont Public Schools Grant recipient, Fremont Public Schools Board of Education Recognition and membership in PEO Social Sorority to promote women’s education. Jennifer is a two time presenter at the Nebraska State Middle Level Educators Association for her efforts in creating a staff and student wellness club, and successful implementation of a Broadway Music Club for middle level students. Jennifer Grenier is a choreographer, director, and adjudicator.
Jennifer Grenier currently serves SNJ Studios Millard as a voice and drum instructor, as well as director and choreographer of Spotlight 4th & 5th Grade Show Choir, as well as administrative and teaching of voice, guitar, ukulele, bass guitar and ensembles at SNJ Studios Fremont.
